Paul D. Lundberg

Paul D. Lundberg is Of Counsel with Goosmann Law Firm and a veteran trial attorney who has practiced since 1981. His services include Employment Law, Litigation Trial Law, Construction, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Paul has litigated more than 100 cases to verdict in state and federal courts in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota. His broader civil experience includes personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, premises liability, construction defects, insurance claims, product liability, professional liability, contracts, employment, and civil rights.

Paul received his Juris Doctor with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. Before his legal career, he served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1974 as a Rank E-5 Staff Sergeant and received an honorable discharge. His legal education and military background preceded more than four decades of trial practice. That experience supports a disciplined approach to complex civil disputes involving technical evidence, professional standards, contracts, injuries, insurance coverage, and business or employment relationships.

Paul worked with Sioux City area law firms from 1981 to 2002, including years as a partner and as the lawyer responsible for employee relations and retention at one firm. He then operated a solo practice from 2002 until 2022 before joining Goosmann. His notable matters include significant libel, wrongful death, and construction-defect cases, along with a broad mix of plaintiff and defense work in commercial, insurance, employment, professional liability, and personal injury litigation.

Paul is a Fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers from 2007 through 2018. He is admitted in Iowa and South Dakota and before several federal courts, including the Eighth Circuit and United States Supreme Court. Paul D.
