Patrick Tomasiewicz is a seasoned trial attorney focused on criminal defense, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation. Board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in civil trial work, he represents clients in complex and high-stakes matters across Connecticut. He is also completing the process to become board-certified in criminal trial work.
Patrick earned a BA from the University of Connecticut in 1980. He later received a Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1984. His academic foundation supports decades of courtroom experience and disciplined legal analysis in both criminal and civil trial practice.
Patrick Tomasiewicz is known for securing significant results, including the dismissal of eleven sexual assault charges against a physician and multi-million-dollar settlements for victims and families, while providing steady guidance through difficult legal challenges. He has handled serious criminal cases involving murder, sexual assault, arson, robbery, burglary, weapons charges, and federal narcotics indictments. In civil matters, he represents victims in wrongful death, medical malpractice, hospital liability, nursing home negligence, catastrophic injury, and automobile accident cases. He also represents the Hartford Police Union and serves as counsel to the Fraternal Order of Police in Hartford, and has represented the Connecticut Laborers Union, Local 230.
Patrick has been named a Connecticut Super Lawyer and New England Super Lawyer since 2010. In 2023, he was designated a Top 50 Super Lawyer in the state of Connecticut.
