About
Patrick N. Anderson is a highly experienced criminal defense attorney who has represented clients across the Commonwealth of Virginia for more than 36 years. From the outset of his career, he has focused exclusively on criminal defense, dedicating his practice to protecting the rights, freedom, and futures of individuals facing criminal charges. His firm has grown into one of the most established criminal defense practices in Virginia.
Patrick earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1988. While in law school, he was a member of the national Moot Court team and received the Best Brief Award in the National Moot Court Competition. These early achievements reflected his strong advocacy skills and commitment to excellence in legal writing and courtroom performance.
Following graduation, Patrick opened his own law firm devoted solely to criminal defense. Over the decades, he has litigated thousands of cases in courts throughout Virginia and in several Federal District Courts. His experience spans a wide range of matters, including DUI and DWI, drug offenses, violent crimes, sex crimes involving adults and children, white collar crimes, juvenile cases, traffic violations, and serious felony charges such as first-degree murder and rape.
In addition to his legal work, Patrick has maintained a strong commitment to community service. He has served on numerous boards and commissions, including leadership roles with the American Civil Liberties Union at both the national and Virginia levels, the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority, United Way of Alexandria, and several nonprofit, educational, and arts organizations.
Patrick N. Anderson believes that serving the community is an essential part of effective criminal defense. Through decades of advocacy and public service, he continues to provide experienced, principled representation to individuals navigating the criminal justice system.
