About
Omar M. Bississo is a criminal defense and traffic defense lawyer in Falls Church, Virginia. He represents clients in matters involving DWI, reckless driving, petit larceny, possession of marijuana, assault, traffic offenses, expungement, suspended licenses, and other criminal charges. His practice also includes civil matters, where he helps clients protect their rights and address legal problems with careful case preparation.
Omar earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. He later received his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law, where he was a Merit Fellow Scholar. His legal education helped build a strong foundation in constitutional rights, legal research, courtroom advocacy, and criminal procedure. This training supports his work defending clients facing serious legal consequences.
Omar’s commitment to criminal defense developed during law school while he clerked with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender in Rockville, Maryland. During that clerkship, he drafted a successful motion to suppress based on an illegal stop under the Fourth Amendment. After the motion was granted, the charges against the defendant were dropped. That experience shaped his focus on courtroom advocacy and defense work.
Omar M. Bississo is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of Virginia, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the South Asian Bar Association DC. He also speaks English, Arabic, and basic Spanish, allowing him to assist a broader range of clients facing criminal, traffic, and civil legal concerns.
