About

Nikie N. Lomax is an Orlando family law attorney and senior legal strategist with more than two decades of experience. Her background includes divorce, child custody, child support, domestic violence, paternity, relocation, property division, and judgment modification matters. She is trained in Collaborative Law and is a certified family law mediator. Her current work focuses heavily on mentoring attorneys, developing case strategy, preparing matters for trial, and strengthening legal drafting.

Lomax earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law as a Virgil Hawkins Law Fellowship recipient. She received her B.A. in English from the University of Mississippi, with a minor in Art. Her academic training provided a strong foundation in research, writing, advocacy, and legal analysis. These skills continue to support her work involving family law strategy, negotiation, trial preparation, and attorney development.

Lomax began her legal career with Florida’s Department of Children and Families, Child Welfare Legal Services in Lake County. She litigated hundreds of juvenile dependency cases before entering private practice. Her experience includes service as a certified family law mediator, Attorney ad Litem, and Guardian ad Litem. She no longer maintains a personal caseload and instead provides strategic guidance on depositions, trials, legal drafting, case development, and complex family disputes.

Nikie N. Lomax combines family law experience with legal education and community service. She serves as a Visiting Instructor at Florida A&M University College of Law, teaching Legal Research and Writing. She previously taught Business Law at Belhaven University. Her pro bono work includes service as a teaching attorney and volunteer Guardian ad Litem through the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. She has served on several Central Florida nonprofit boards.
