Nicole S. Facio is a partner and attorney at New Point Law Firm, plc. Her practice focuses on family law, collaborative divorce, mediation, juvenile court matters, estate planning, guardianships, and real estate. She works closely with individuals and families to guide them through important legal decisions and life transitions.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 1995. She later attended Drake University Law School, where she graduated with high honors in 2010. During law school, she was a member of the Drake Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
Before becoming an attorney, Nicole worked for many years as a social worker with the Department of Health and Human Services in Story County. In that role, she helped parents and children overcome challenges related to substance abuse, mental health, and family safety.
Nicole began practicing law in 2010 with the Newbrough Law Firm. Since then, she has focused on family and juvenile law matters, including divorce, child custody, paternity, protective orders, child support, guardianships, and Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) cases.
Nicole is also a trained mediator and has been conducting mediations since 2016. Through mediation, she helps families resolve disputes constructively and cooperatively, without the need for court intervention whenever possible.
Nicole S. Facio is actively involved in the Ames community. She has served on the board of the Legal Aid Society of Story County since 2011 and previously served as board president. She has also served on the board of Heartland of Story County and other local organizations.
