About
Nancy Z. Fujikawa is an Oakland estate planning attorney who helps clients plan for the future and administer estates after a death. Her work focuses on building long-term relationships with people making financial and family decisions about their assets. She also assists clients with matters that arise while carrying out an estate plan or settling a loved one’s affairs. She entered law as a second career and brings that professional perspective to estate planning and administration.
Nancy earned a B.A. from the University of California, Davis, in 2004. She later completed a J.D. with honors from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2020. Her legal education provided the foundation for advising clients on trusts, estate planning, and administration procedures. The shift into legal practice followed an earlier career, giving her another perspective on how clients approach financial decisions and long-term plans. Her work requires attention to both legal documents and family circumstances.
Nancy works with clients preparing plans for how their assets and responsibilities will be managed in the future. She also guides families during estate administration, when they must address legal processes while coping with a death. Her practice calls for communication with clients who may be unfamiliar with trust and estate procedures. She focuses on explaining the work to be completed, answering questions about the steps ahead, and helping families make decisions consistent with the applicable documents and legal requirements.
Nancy Z. Fujikawa has been selected to Northern California Rising Stars lists each year since 2023. She serves as vice chair of Estate Planning and Administration for East Bay Trusts and Estates Lawyers and is a member of the Alameda County Bar Association and the State Bar of California’s Trusts and Estates Section. She brings professional involvement and direct client support to estate planning and administration matters, aiming to make difficult legal decisions more understandable.
