About
Mindy Ellen Wheeler is a Partner at Peggs Wheeler, LC in Wichita, Kansas. Her practice covers a broad range of civil matters, including wills and probate, guardianship and conservatorship, landlord and tenant law, business formation, contracts, and family law lawsuits and disputes such as child support. She combines legal experience with a practical understanding of business and financial issues developed before entering the legal profession. She works with individuals, families, landlords, tenants, and business clients who need guidance with disputes, planning, agreements, or other legal concerns.
Mindy earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Philosophy from Wichita State University and later earned her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. Before law school, she worked in the Wichita banking industry for nearly a decade. After graduating from law school, she returned to Wichita and spent three years working as a legal assistant in a family law practice. Her education, banking background, and early legal experience provided a foundation for a practice involving family, business, property, probate, and other civil matters.
Mindy began working with attorney Jack Peggs in 2015, while awaiting the results of the Kansas Bar Exam. After she passed the exam and was admitted to practice law in Kansas, the two formed Peggs Wheeler, LC. Her work at the firm includes civil matters that can involve litigation as well as transactional and planning concerns. Her practice areas include wills and probate, guardianship and conservatorship, landlord and tenant law, business formation, contracts, and family law. The firm’s broader practice also includes estate planning, business litigation, personal injury, and related civil matters.
Mindy Ellen Wheeler approaches legal matters with an emphasis on understanding the specific circumstances behind each client’s concerns and developing practical strategies suited to those needs. Her varied professional background allows her to address both personal and business-related legal issues, whether a matter involves family obligations, estate administration, contractual relationships, property concerns, or the creation of a business entity. From Peggs Wheeler, LC’s Wichita office, she serves clients throughout Wichita and surrounding Kansas communities. Her practice reflects a combination of legal training, prior banking experience, family law exposure, and civil practice experience developed since entering the Kansas bar.
