Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson is the Executive Director and Attorney at Rocky Mountain Legal Center in Lafayette, Colorado. He helps individuals and families address bankruptcy, family law, civil litigation, immigration, probate, civil rights, and estate planning matters. As a bankruptcy lawyer, Anderson assists clients seeking Chapter 7 debt relief and a financial fresh start. His work reflects Rocky Mountain Legal Center’s mission of providing affordable and accessible civil legal services to low-income community members.

Anderson earned his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1995 and was admitted to the Colorado Bar after graduation. He also earned a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1989. His academic background supports his ability to analyze legal issues, communicate clearly with clients, and guide individuals through bankruptcy, litigation, probate, and family-related legal concerns with practical judgment.

Anderson has practiced law in multiple civil areas, including bankruptcy, family law, civil litigation, immigration, probate, civil rights, and estate planning. After 15 years in private practice, he left that setting in March 2010 to help start Rocky Mountain Legal Center in response to the need for affordable legal services. Through this work, he has helped build a nonprofit legal organization focused on closing the justice gap for people who might otherwise lack access to counsel.

Mike Anderson also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Paralegal Studies Department at Front Range Community College. His work combines legal experience, community service, and a practical understanding of the challenges facing individuals under financial and legal pressure. Through Rocky Mountain Legal Center, he continues to help clients in Lafayette, Boulder County, and the Front Range pursue debt relief, protect family interests, and address important civil legal matters.
