About

Michelle MacLeod represents Texas employers, executives, professionals, and businesses in employment law and labor matters at MacLeod Law Firm. She handles discrimination claims involving age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and race. She also advises clients on FMLA, ADAAA, Title VII, ADEA, and Section 1981 issues. She counsels employers on risk prevention, workplace policies, investigations, and compliance while representing clients in litigation and arbitration when disputes cannot be resolved through practical measures and effective negotiation strategies.

Michelle earned her B.A. from Idaho State University. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as a Georgetown Law Journal notes editor and made the Dean’s List. She also received the Henry Kaiser Labor Law Award and served as a Global Teaching Fellow. She was admitted to the Texas bar in 2007 and is admitted before the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas federal courts.

Michelle advises employers on EEOC and Texas Workforce Commission charges, Department of Labor investigations, employee classification, overtime, and FMLA compliance. She drafts employment agreements, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, employee handbooks, and workplace policies. She also conducts internal investigations involving sexual harassment and hostile work environment allegations. She provides day-to-day employment counseling and management training while helping clients address workplace disputes before they develop into larger legal conflicts and costly litigation.

Michelle MacLeod formed her employment law practice in 2014 after seven years handling employment law and commercial litigation at Dallas firms. She has represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups, executives, and professionals. She also handles trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes and high-stakes business litigation. Her experience combines counseling, investigations, drafting, arbitration, and courtroom advocacy, allowing her to address employment problems from both preventive and litigation perspectives.
