About
Michelle J. Spirn has dedicated more than 25 years to the practice of family law, with a strong focus on complex litigation. Her approach reflects high levels of skill, integrity, and professionalism. Michelle currently serves as the president of the Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a nationally respected legal organization.
Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University in 1992. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996. Her education laid a strong foundation for her legal career, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex family law matters.
Michelle’s legal career includes many distinguished appointments. In 2023, she was elected to the Judicial Commission of the 21st Judicial Circuit, helping select judges under Missouri’s Nonpartisan Court Plan. From 2016 to 2021, she served on the Region X Disciplinary Committee of the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, where she helped investigate attorney conduct.
Michelle has received many honors throughout her career. She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2019 and was named “Lawyer of the Year” for Family Law in 2021. She has also been selected as a Missouri/Kansas “Super Lawyer” every year since 2014. She appears regularly among the “Top 50 St. Louis Super Lawyers” and the “Top 50 Women Lawyers” in Missouri and Kansas.
Michelle shares her knowledge through frequent speaking engagements, including legal ethics, trial preparation, and case settlement strategies. She has spoken at events hosted by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, among others. Her work continues to guide both peers and new professionals in the field.
