Michelle D. Craig is a highly skilled attorney with extensive experience in labor and employment law, business transactions, and education law. As the founder and owner of Transcendent Law Group, she provides strategic legal counsel to companies of all sizes, educational institutions, and entrepreneurs. With over 17 years in Am200 law firms, she focuses on litigation, compliance, and business solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.

Michelle earned her Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University Law Center. Additionally, she studied International and Comparative Law at Université d’Aix Marseille III in France. Her education provides a strong foundation for her ability to navigate complex legal matters in diverse industries.

Michelle launched her legal career at Jones Walker, representing clients in Louisiana and Texas, and later made history at Adams and Reese LLP as the first African-American female partner in the New Orleans office. Today, she focuses on state and federal employment litigation, including Title VII discrimination, FLSA wage and hour claims, ADA disability accommodations, ADEA age discrimination, and other workplace law matters. She also partners with employers to develop compliant HR policies, draft and negotiate employment agreements, ensure regulatory compliance, and resolve complex workplace disputes.

In addition to employment law, Michelle works extensively with charter schools and higher education institutions. She advises school boards and administrators on policies, compliance, and governance. She frequently speaks on education law issues and helps schools maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.

For businesses and startups, Michelle provides legal guidance on incorporation, partnership agreements, contract negotiations, and intellectual property matters. To help firms improve their processes, she developed Prosquire, a legal project management software designed for efficiency and productivity.

Michelle is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas and is an active member of professional organizations, including the Louisiana State Bar Association, Texas State Bar Association, and the Society of Human Resources Managers. She also serves as Chairperson of the Orleans Parish Civil Service Commission.
