Michael Panella

Michael Panella is the founder of Panella Law Firm in Orlando, Florida, focusing on criminal defense and family law. Known for his strong courtroom advocacy, he represents clients in serious felony cases, appeals, and complex family law disputes, always committed to protecting their rights and pursuing fair, just outcomes.

Mr. Panella earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he received book awards in Criminal Law and Family Law. He also holds a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy, from the University of Central Florida. While in law school, he served as President of Phi Alpha Delta and earned certificates in Criminal Justice, Pro Bono Service, and Community Service for his academic excellence and civic dedication.

Before founding Panella Law Firm, Mr. Panella served as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit, where he handled hundreds of criminal cases and maintained an undefeated trial record. He later gained national attention as part of the defense team in State v. George Zimmerman and went on to achieve major appellate victories, including opinions redefining Florida’s self-defense laws.

In private practice, Michael Panella and his team have secured acquittals, dismissals, and multimillion-dollar results through strategic litigation. Recognized by Super Lawyers, The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and Orlando Style Magazine’s Attorney of the Year 2025, he continues to fight for the rights of the accused and the protection of families across Florida.
