Michael G. Owen

Michael G. Owen is a partner at Morris James and chair of the firm’s Personal Injury Group in Delaware. He represents injured clients in personal injury, maritime injury, product liability, and workers’ compensation matters. His practice includes catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases arising from vehicle accidents, workplace incidents, unsafe products, and other serious events. He appears in Delaware and neighboring jurisdictions and handles both court litigation and workers’ compensation proceedings before the Industrial Accident Board.

Owen earned a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2008 and a B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Business Law, from The Pennsylvania State University in 2004. During his legal development, he gained experience in government and the Delaware Attorney General’s Office. His education and early public-service work support his litigation-focused representation of injured clients.

Owen began his legal career handling personal injury and workers’ compensation matters from the defense side before moving to plaintiff representation. He now handles serious accident, product, maritime, and workplace claims, including matters involving significant medical injuries and disputed liability. His prior defense experience helps him evaluate insurance arguments, case valuation, evidence, and the practical issues that can affect settlement or trial.
