Michael D. Good is a skilled attorney. He has deep expertise in bankruptcy law and corporate restructuring. He is the owner and managing attorney of South Bay Law Firm. Since 1994, he has represented corporate debtors, creditors’ committees, and individual creditors. Mr. Good has experience in many industries. They include franchising, construction, manufacturing, sub-prime lending, media, and international insolvencies.
Mr. Good is a University of Pennsylvania graduate. He earned a B.A. from the College of Arts and Sciences. He also minored in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management at the Wharton Business School. He went on to obtain his J.D. from Pepperdine University in 1994. Following law school, he served as a judicial clerk for Hon. Mitchel R. Goldberg in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
Mr. Good has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing bankruptcy law and practice throughout his career. He has vast experience with complex bankruptcies, reorganizations, and liquidations. He has also handled out-of-court restructurings and assignments for creditors. His expertise is recognized by his service on the Bankruptcy Mediation Panel for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, since 2016.
Mr. Good has advanced the legal profession through education. He published journal articles and authored works on bankruptcy law, both domestic and international. He has also been a U.S.-based correspondent for International Corporate Rescue. Since 2013, he has advised the California State Bar’s Insolvency Law Committee.
In 2004, Super Lawyers named Mr. Good a “Rising Star.” His career shows a dedication to helping individuals and businesses solve financial problems.
