Michael earned a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, with certification in Energy, Environmental, and Natural Resources Law, and served as editor of a law review. He also holds a B.A. in Economics from Indiana University, summa cum laude, with a business management certification.

He represents developers, investors, financial institutions, and energy providers in mergers, acquisitions, financings, restructurings, and outsourcing arrangements, and drafts and negotiates a wide range of energy-related commercial agreements.
