About

Micaela Tucker is General Counsel at Athena Advocacy in White River Junction, where her legal background supports the organization’s legal navigation and court-supervised fiduciary work. Athena Advocacy is a professional fiduciary and care management organization rather than a law firm. Her experience spans public and private-sector legal work, government law, appellate matters, health policy, and advocacy involving individuals facing complex institutional, financial, and legal barriers.

Micaela graduated from Vermont Law School. Her legal education supported a career that moved across judicial, government, policy, and private practice settings. That training provided a foundation for litigation, appellate analysis, regulatory matters, and the legal issues that arise in fiduciary, guardianship, and other court-supervised situations involving vulnerable adults. It also supports her work assessing institutional processes, client needs, and legal responsibilities across complex professional settings.

Micaela clerked at the Vermont Supreme Court and later served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Vermont. Her government litigation work included a diverse caseload and three successful supreme court appeals. She was also assigned as Special General Counsel to the Governor’s office and worked on negotiations related to Vermont’s disaster recovery after Hurricane Irene. She later spent several years in health policy and private practice before joining Athena Advocacy.

Micaela Tucker combines government litigation, appellate work, health policy, and private practice experience in her current General Counsel role. Earlier in her career, she chaired a Federal Communications Commission subcommittee on disability access and founded an educational access organization. She also serves on nonprofit boards. This background supports Athena Advocacy’s work with clients and families navigating fiduciary responsibilities, court-supervised matters, aging-related systems, and other legal or institutional complexities.
