Melissa Theriault is Senior Counsel in Crowley Fleck’s Cheyenne office and focuses on commercial litigation, class actions, construction law, appellate matters, and tort litigation. A Wyoming attorney with nearly two decades in the legal field, she handles complex civil disputes with a practical, detail-oriented approach. Her work involves identifying key facts and legal issues, developing litigation strategy, advising clients about realistic options, and moving cases toward resolution through careful preparation.
Melissa earned a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law. She also received a B.F.A. in Theater with honors from the Theater Conservatory of the College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and an A.A. in Theater from Casper College. Melissa began her legal career with a civil defense litigation firm and later served in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office. There, she worked in the Consumer Protection Unit and became Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, where she was cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. She returned to private practice in 2019, bringing public-sector enforcement experience to commercial, construction, tort, class action, and appellate matters.
Melissa Theriault is admitted in Wyoming and serves professional and community organizations, including the Ewing T. Kerr American Inn of Court and the Wyoming State Bar. She has written and presented on disability rights, supported decision-making, guardianships, identity theft, and related legal issues.
