Melisande Hill is a partner at Hill & Moin LLP in New York City who represents plaintiffs in serious personal injury cases. Her practice includes construction accidents, premises liability, nursing home neglect, police brutality, injuries to children, and bicycle, automobile, trucking, and subway accidents. Hill prepares cases for trial and helps injured clients pursue compensation when unsafe property conditions, defective products, workplace hazards, or other forms of negligence cause significant harm.
Hill earned a B.A. with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976 and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1979. She served on the law review while completing her legal education. Hill was admitted to the Virginia bar in 1980 and the New York bar in 1981. Her academic training and decades of courtroom work provide a strong foundation for analyzing complex liability and damages issues.
Hill began her New York legal career with Lipsig, Sullivan and Liapakis, where she concentrated on products liability and tried cases against the City of New York. She later became a partner in Gary Pillersdorf’s firm and continued handling complex plaintiff matters. Her representative experience includes Delosovic v. City of New York, a roadway defect and products liability case that resulted in a $25 million jury verdict. She has tried scores of cases and secured numerous seven-figure outcomes.
Melisande Hill helped establish Hill & Moin in 1997 with Cheryl Eisberg Moin, building a practice centered on detailed preparation and personalized representation. She has contributed to landmark decisions, including a Labor Law matter identified by the firm as one of the decade’s influential cases.
