Melinda G. Seeds

Melinda G. Seeds is an experienced attorney who focuses her practice at Hayes Law Offices, Inc. on family law and juvenile law matters. Since joining the firm in 2007, she has guided individuals and families through some of the most sensitive legal challenges they face. Her work includes divorce, dissolution, custody and visitation disputes, child support, adoption, civil protection orders, and children’s services cases. Melinda is known for helping clients understand their legal options clearly while working toward practical, fair outcomes that protect children and families.

Melinda earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law after completing her undergraduate education at Miami University, where she earned a B.S. in Mass Communications and English. Her legal education provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and communication skills that continue to guide her client-focused approach. Her academic background supports her ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and approachably.

Melinda served for more than a decade with the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office, where she was Chief of the Juvenile Division before entering private practice. In that role, she handled a wide range of juvenile law matters, including abuse, neglect, and delinquency cases. This experience gave her deep insight into how courts evaluate the best interests of children and how families are affected by court decisions. She also gained valuable courtroom and trial experience that benefits her clients today.

Melinda G. Seeds serves as a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for the best interests of children in complex legal proceedings in addition to representing parents and families. She works diligently to promote resolutions that reduce conflict whenever possible, while remaining a strong advocate when litigation is necessary. Through careful guidance, strategic advocacy, and steady professionalism, she has helped many individuals navigate difficult legal transitions with confidence and clarity.
