Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from New College of Florida in 1987 and her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1990. Her dual bar admissions in Florida and North Carolina reflect her broad legal proficiency and commitment to professional excellence. These academic and professional achievements have equipped her with the analytical skills necessary to handle complex bankruptcy and employment matters.

Before joining Jodat Law Group, Melanie practiced criminal law with the Public Defender’s Offices in Sarasota, Bradenton, and Charlotte, North Carolina. She also gained valuable experience working with Child Welfare Legal Services in Sarasota and The Florida Bar. This diverse legal background has given her a well-rounded perspective on courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and client-centered representation.
