About
Megan Dosouto is an associate attorney at the Family Law Center of Rhode Island, where she focuses on helping clients navigate sensitive family law matters. Trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, she offers accessible communication, compassionate guidance, and strong advocacy for individuals facing challenging transitions involving their families and futures.
Megan’s academic background includes Roger Williams University, where she completed 3+3 legal studies coursework and earned degrees in Legal Studies and Spanish in 2023. She graduated summa cum laude, received Dean’s List recognition each semester, completed a mediation certificate, and earned her Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2025. During law school, she built practical experience through service, leadership, and courtroom exposure. She was active in the Women’s Law Society throughout three years, serving in officer roles, including vice president during her final year.
Megan also interned for the Honorable Mary S. McElroy of the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. There, she gained insight into civil and criminal litigation by conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, and observing court proceedings and hearings, as well as the practical work of judicial decision-making. Her early legal training included volunteer work with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in Fall River, Massachusetts, where she observed criminal defense practice. She later interned with Attorney Cardullo, assisting with court proceedings, legal research, motions, memoranda, client intake, case preparation, and matters progressing from initial consultation toward resolution.
After being admitted to the Rhode Island Bar in November 2025, Megan Dosouto began handling a range of family law matters and working collaboratively with Attorney Cardullo. She has served as co-counsel in a divorce trial lasting more than 11 days, demonstrating preparation, persistence, and attention to detail in complex family disputes. Through her family law practice, she helps clients understand their options, prepare for decisions, and pursue practical outcomes during emotionally difficult circumstances.
