About

Megan C. Misko is an attorney at The Young Firm in New Orleans who has practiced since 2005, primarily in construction law, products liability, and maritime personal injury litigation. Misko represents injured maritime and offshore workers and also has experience with environmental matters and Defense Base Act cases. Her practice includes Jones Act claims, maintenance and cure disputes, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act matters, vessel injuries, barge injuries, oil-rig injuries, and fixed-platform claims.

Misko earned her J.D. cum laude from Tulane University School of Law in 2005 and a B.A. magna cum laude in History from Centenary College of Louisiana in 2002. At Tulane, she earned a certificate in maritime law and served as Senior Business Editor of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. Her academic work provided a strong foundation for a practice involving maritime statutes, offshore operations, environmental issues, and complex injury litigation.

Before focusing her practice on injured workers, Misko gained experience in defense-side litigation. Her current work requires evaluating vessel status, employment relationships, safety obligations, medical evidence, maintenance and cure issues, and the financial impact of an injury on a maritime worker. She handles cases involving offshore and vessel operations where federal maritime law and fact-intensive questions about work duties, equipment, and employer conduct are often central.

Megan C. Misko is admitted in Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas and belongs to the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana Association for Justice, and Pro Bono Project. She was also recognized by Super Lawyers in 2025. Misko combines maritime-law education, construction and product-liability experience, and years of litigation practice to help injured workers understand their rights and pursue claims arising from offshore and maritime employment.
