Matthew V. Fisher

Matthew V. Fisher is a Wisconsin commercial litigation lawyer and partner in Stafford Rosenbaum LLP’s Milwaukee office. He co-chairs the firm’s Litigation Team and represents businesses and individuals in complex disputes. His practice covers securities and financial litigation, antitrust, class actions, construction, insurance coverage, business torts, product liability, contracts, and real estate litigation. He handles matters from early case assessment through trial, appeal, mediation, or arbitration.

Matthew earned a B.A. with High Honors from the University of Iowa, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota. During law school, he clerked with the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement Trial Unit. His academic background supports detailed analysis of financial records, regulatory issues, contracts, and complicated business relationships.

Matthew includes disputes involving securities, financial services, insurance coverage, construction defects, products, contracts, business conduct, and property in his litigation practice. He has obtained dismissals, achieved successful trial results, and argued successfully before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He represents clients in mediation and arbitration when private dispute resolution offers a practical path forward. He currently serves as a FINRA arbitrator and brings a balanced understanding of advocacy, evidence, procedure, and settlement strategy.
