Matthew G. Shaw

Matthew G. Shaw is a family law attorney who represents individuals and families in divorce, custody, and related legal matters. His practice focuses on resolving complex family disputes involving financial issues, parenting arrangements, and child support. With decades of legal experience, he has handled numerous family law cases in Illinois courts and works to guide clients through difficult legal transitions. Mr. Shaw earned his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1986. He also holds a B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from Illinois College, which he completed in 1983. After completing his legal education, he was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1986. His academic training and legal studies provided the foundation for a career focused on family law, litigation, and dispute resolution in Illinois courts.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Shaw has focused primarily on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, financial settlements, and related disputes. He previously served as the child support attorney for the Kane County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and later opened his own practice concentrating on family law. His experience includes representing men, women, and children in court proceedings and helping clients resolve family disputes through negotiation, mediation, and litigation when necessary.

Matthew G. Shaw has also contributed to the legal profession through writing, teaching, and professional involvement.
