Matthew G. Bennett

Matthew G. Bennett is a partner at Foley Freeman, where he represents clients across Idaho in matters involving family law, bankruptcy, and civil litigation. Known for his thoughtful advocacy and in-depth legal knowledge, he brings a client-focused approach to every case he handles.

Matthew earned his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2014, graduating first in his class. During law school, he served as Articles Editor for the Idaho Law Review and published a highly regarded article on third-party custody rights. He received the College of Law’s Award of Legal Achievement and the University of Idaho’s Alumni Award for Excellence.

Before entering law, Matthew G. Bennett completed a Master’s in Social Work from Boise State University. His background as a mental health counselor for both adults and children informs his legal practice with empathy and insight, particularly in emotionally charged family law matters. He also holds degrees from BYU–Idaho and the College of Southern Idaho, graduating summa cum laude at each stage.

Mr. Bennett has developed a reputation for legal excellence and strategic case management. His ability to work fluently in both English and Spanish allows him to serve a wider community with clarity and confidence. He is admitted to practice in Idaho and the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho.
