Matt began his academic path by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, in 2000. His return to school later led him to complete his Juris Doctorate at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 2012, graduating Cum Laude and strengthening the foundation for his future legal career.

Matt developed early advocacy skills while serving on the Moot Court Board, where he competed in the National Cultural Heritage Moot Court competition in 2011 and 2012. During this period, he received the Honorable William Welch Award for Excellence in Labor Law, demonstrating a strong commitment to research, preparation, and persuasive written and oral argument.

Matt gained additional experience as he transitioned into active legal practice, assisting clients with business transactions, employment issues, and mergers and acquisitions. His background in corporate operations helps him understand how legal decisions affect long-term goals, enabling him to offer advice that supports both stability and growth for individuals and organizations.
