Matt Potempa is an experienced trial attorney whose practice is dedicated exclusively to probate and trust litigation. With a focus on resolving disputes involving wills, estates, fiduciary obligations, conservatorships, and real property issues, he delivers strategic and efficient representation for clients facing emotionally and financially complex legal challenges across these sensitive areas.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Memphis in 2003 and subsequently received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2006. He also pursued international legal studies at University College Dublin School of Law, the University of Edinburgh Law School, and the European Union Headquarters in Brussels.
For over twelve years, Matt’s practice has focused on navigating complex probate and trust disputes, including breaches of fiduciary duty and contested estate matters. His experience includes serving as a mediator in probate disputes and teaching as an adjunct professor at Belmont University College of Law, further enhancing his depth of knowledge in this specialized field.
Before becoming a founding partner at MHPS, he established the Law Office of Matt, PLLC, with a focus on probate, matrimonial, and business disputes. His leadership experience and commitment to the legal profession have resulted in extensive involvement in bar associations at the local, state, and national levels, including service in numerous governance and committee roles.
