Matt Farra

Matt Farra is the founding attorney of Farra Law Firm in Louisville, where he focuses on criminal defense. His practice includes DUI, drug charges, assault and violent crimes, domestic violence, traffic and license matters, white collar and fraud allegations, expungements, juvenile cases, theft and property offenses, felonies, misdemeanors, and probation issues. He has nearly twenty years of criminal defense experience and represents clients in Kentucky state courts and federal court in the Western District of Kentucky.

Farra earned a J.D. from Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law. His legal education prepared him for courtroom advocacy, legal research, motion practice, and trial preparation. While in law school, he gained practical experience through legal work connected to criminal defense. His academic and early professional background became the foundation for a career centered on representing people facing criminal charges and related consequences.

Farra began his career in the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s Office, where he worked in the adult trial division and developed substantial courtroom experience. He later practiced insurance defense before returning to criminal defense and establishing his own firm. That background gives him experience with prosecution strategies, defense investigation, evidentiary disputes, negotiations, and trial preparation. His current practice covers charges ranging from misdemeanors and DUI offenses to serious felonies and federal matters.

Matt Farra focuses on direct representation in criminal cases and personally manages the legal strategy for clients facing prosecution. His public-defender background and years in private practice provide experience with arraignments, motions, negotiations, hearings, trials, and post-case issues such as expungement.
