About

Matson Kelley is an attorney with more than 20 years of trial and litigation experience, including over 10,000 hours in the courtroom. He represents clients in serious injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, defective product, and premises liability matters. He is known for strong advocacy in both litigation and settlement negotiations. His work focuses on helping clients pursue accountability, fair compensation, and practical resolutions in cases involving significant harm and complex legal issues statewide.

Matson graduated magna cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii. He also holds a B.S. from Santa Clara University. While studying business at Santa Clara, he became the first student accepted into the law school’s Early Start Program before transferring to law school in Hawaii.

Before entering private practice, Matson served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Honolulu. He also performed legal services for the Santa Clara Superior Court, provided pro bono service through the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, and served as a federal court extern for Magistrate Judge Leslie Kobayashi. He currently serves as a per diem judge in Family and District Court. This broad experience gives him valuable insight into litigation, judicial process, and effective case preparation.

Matson Kelley has resolved cases in courts across Hawaii, including state trial courts, federal courts, and the Hawaii Supreme Court. He also successfully argued a landmark case before the Hawaii Supreme Court involving a child’s loss of parental consortium claim. His professional work has earned multiple honors and reflects a deep commitment to service. Through careful preparation and strong advocacy, he helps clients seek justice, truth, and meaningful recovery after serious injuries and losses.
