About
MaryBeth Schroeder is a bankruptcy attorney whose practice has focused exclusively on federal bankruptcy law since 1989. She represents individual consumers and small businesses seeking relief under the United States Bankruptcy Code. Her work includes Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 filings, as well as litigation arising from violations of the automatic stay and discharge injunction. She is known for handling every aspect of a case personally and thoroughly.
MaryBeth earned her Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Boston University and her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law–Camden. During law school, she studied under the Honorable William H. Gindin, then a United States Bankruptcy Judge and later Chief Judge for the District of New Jersey. That experience shaped her deep understanding of bankruptcy law and its role in restoring financial stability.
Following law school, MaryBeth completed a judicial clerkship in Monmouth County and later worked alongside a Chapter 7 Trustee, gaining firsthand insight into trustee administration and creditor-debtor dynamics. She then spent two decades practicing bankruptcy law in a small firm environment, refining her skills, expanding her litigation experience, and developing a practice centered on precision, compliance, and client education.
In 2013, MaryBeth Schroeder established her own practice devoted primarily to consumer bankruptcy representation. She emphasizes transparency, detailed disclosure, and strict adherence to the Bankruptcy Code. Clients work directly with an attorney rather than support staff and receive guidance before, during, and after discharge. Her approach prioritizes accuracy, accountability, and individualized attention to help clients navigate bankruptcy efficiently and rebuild their financial footing responsibly.
