Mary G. Kirkpatrick is an accomplished Vermont trial attorney concentrating exclusively on litigation and dispute resolution. Her practice includes personal injury, product liability, commercial and bankruptcy litigation, workers’ compensation, family law, and immigration matters. She represents individuals and closely held companies in complex disputes across state and federal courts.

Mary earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981, graduating in the top 10% of her class. She received her B.A. cum laude from Middlebury College in 1978. Her academic honors include the American Jurisprudence Book Award, Property, 1979.

With more than 50 trials to verdict or final decision, Mary has extensive courtroom experience in Vermont district and superior courts, the Vermont federal district court, and bankruptcy court. She also handles appeals before the Vermont Supreme Court and has achieved numerous successful appellate outcomes.

Mary’s dispute resolution work includes mediation and arbitration, supported by certification from Harvard Law School. She is a former Co-Chair of the Vermont Bar Association Tort Liability Committee and devotes 100% of her practice to litigation, reflecting her focused professional commitment.

Earlier in her career, Mary was a litigation associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson in New York. She also served as a law clerk intern to the Honorable William M. Hoeveler of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mary previously served as a shareholder at Lisman, Webster, Kirkpatrick & Leckerling, P.C., and later co-founded her current firm in 2006. Her leadership roles demonstrate long-standing professional respect within Vermont’s legal community and dedication to client advocacy.

Mary G.
