About
Marva De Armas is a dedicated immigration attorney with a strong focus on helping individuals and families navigate complex immigration challenges. Her legal career began in 2013, and since then, she has passionately represented clients facing deportation, asylum issues, and other high-stakes immigration matters across the United States.
Marva earned her undergraduate degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee. She continued her Juris Doctor at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL, and later completed additional studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in Detroit, MI. Her academic journey laid the foundation for her advocacy and legal skillset.
Marva’s practice centers on removal defense, asylum, family-based petitions, and humanitarian forms of relief. She has helped clients secure legal status through U visas, VAWA petitions, and hardship waivers. Her ability to overturn denied asylum cases on appeal reflects her strong understanding of immigration law and dedication to her clients’ rights.
Marva briefly served as a U.S. Immigration Judge, gaining rare insight into the courtroom process. This unique perspective strengthens her advocacy, giving her a full view of how decisions are made and how best to prepare clients for success in court.
Marva has taken on cases involving political asylum for activists, crimmigration defense for long-term residents, and protection for survivors of domestic violence. Her work has reunited families, defended human rights, and safeguarded futures for people from all over the world.
Marva is an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan and has served as president and board member since 2014. She also belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Immigration Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
Marva De Armas remains committed to standing up for immigrants and giving each client the individual attention they deserve. Her compassionate approach, combined with legal experience, continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of many.
