Mark S. O’Connor

Mark S. O’Connor is a seasoned trial attorney known for handling complex, high-stakes civil litigation involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. He is certified as a specialist in personal injury and wrongful death litigation by the State Bar of Arizona and has represented hundreds of injured victims and grieving families in jury trials.

Mark earned his B.S. from Northern Arizona University. He later obtained his J.D., with distinction, from John Marshall Law School. His academic training built the foundation for a litigation career centered on detailed preparation, strong courtroom advocacy, and a deep understanding of complex injury claims.

Mark focuses on aviation disasters, construction accidents, dram shop/bar liability, drug and medical device litigation, fire and explosions, insurance and bad faith, legal and other professional liability, medical malpractice, motor vehicle and commercial trucking collisions, negligence, nursing home and elder abuse, defective products, sexual assault/misconduct, wrongful death, and commercial litigation. He has served as lead trial counsel in numerous jury trials.

Mark was appointed co-lead counsel for Plaintiffs in the multi-district litigation In Re: Bard IVC Filters Products Liability Litigation and also served as co-liaison counsel in related consolidated cases in the Maricopa County Superior Court. In the first bellwether trial, he and his team secured a $3.6 million award, recognized among Arizona’s top civil verdicts of 2018, including the largest punitive damages award in Arizona that year.
