Mark B. Grzymala

Mark B. Grzymala is a seasoned Chicago attorney with over 22 years of experience in construction law, mechanics liens, commercial litigation, and corporate matters. He has successfully represented subcontractors, general contractors, owners, and developers in disputes involving contracts, defects, lien enforcement, bond claims, and construction payouts.

Mark earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001, along with a certificate in Comparative and International Law. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving a B.A. in Political Science in 1998.

Mark has handled over 2,000 mechanics lien and bond claims and has protected the rights of contractors across trades, from electricians to roofers. As a commercial litigation lawyer, he also advises clients in collections, intellectual property protection, transportation disputes, and UCC matters. He is licensed in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Mark is an active member of the Chicago, Illinois State, and American Bar Associations, contributing to construction law committees and forums. He is a Charter Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and has received the Diversity Award from the Diversity Law Institute for supporting woman-owned construction businesses.

Mark has been selected to the Illinois Super Lawyers list for Construction Litigation from 2017 to 2025, an honor limited to the top five percent of attorneys in the state. He co-authored chapters in the Illinois Construction Law Manual and regularly publishes and presents on mechanics lien rights and construction legal topics.
