Marina S. Barannik is a founding partner at Tucker PLLC, serving clients in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. With decades of experience, she focuses on complex and international family law matters, including divorce, custody, property division, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Marina is widely recognized for her strategic thinking, practical guidance, and ability to handle high-conflict family transitions with sensitivity and professionalism.
Marina earned her J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School in 2003. She holds a Ph.D. from the Institute for U.S. & Canadian Studies (1989) and both an M.A. (1981) and B.A. (1979) from Moscow State University of International Relations.
Before founding Tucker PLLC, Marina was a partner at Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP, where she practiced for over 20 years. She has worked with diverse clients—from corporate executives and international families to stay-at-home spouses—navigating challenging legal and emotional aspects of divorce. Fluent in Russian and French, she brings added value to cross-cultural and global family law matters.
Marina’s approach combines negotiation, mediation, collaborative law, and litigation to meet her clients’ long-term goals. She is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers, reflecting her leadership in the field.
