About
Mariam Alexanian Lavoie is the founder of Lavoie Law and represents injured and disabled clients in Rhode Island. Her practice includes personal injury, workers’ compensation, and Social Security disability matters. Lavoie has been a member of the Rhode Island bar for more than three decades and focuses on helping people pursue rights and benefits after injury, illness, or disability affects their ability to work and manage everyday financial demands.
Lavoie received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1985, graduating with highest distinction. She later earned her law degree from Suffolk University School of Law in 1990, graduating cum laude. While attending law school full time, she remained active in legal work, representing injured workers before the former Department of Workers’ Compensation and assisting United States residency applicants under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
Lavoie began developing workers’ compensation experience before law school while working with a Rhode Island firm that handled those claims. After her admission to the Rhode Island bar in 1990, she continued representing injured and disabled clients. In 2004, she joined Marasco & Nesselbush, where she expanded her experience in personal injury and Social Security disability matters. She later founded Lavoie Law in 2018 to provide personalized representation.
Mariam Alexanian Lavoie brings decades of experience to claims involving workplace injuries, disabling medical conditions, and personal injury. Her background spans workers’ compensation proceedings, disability matters, and injury representation, supported by long-term work with medical issues in legal cases. She meets with clients personally and develops strategies around their individual circumstances, with a practice designed to help people pursue benefits, compensation, and legal protections when health problems disrupt their lives.
