Marco D. Chayet

Marco D. Chayet is a nationally recognized attorney with over two decades of experience in elder law, probate litigation, estate planning, and fiduciary representation. Marco leads clients through complex legal matters involving guardianship, special needs planning, and estate disputes with strategic insight and unwavering dedication.

Marco earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994 after attending the University of California at Berkeley. He completed his legal education at the University of Colorado School of Law, receiving his degree in 1997. His family’s involvement in a landmark Colorado probate case sparked his commitment to elder law during law school.

Marco founded Chayet & Danzo, LLC, and serves as the Public Administrator for the 18th Judicial District in Colorado. Marco advises individuals, families, fiduciaries, and institutions on matters including wills, trusts, Medicaid planning, probate administration, and contested estate cases. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Elder Law at the University of Colorado School of Law.

Marco is licensed to practice law in Colorado and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He is actively involved with the Colorado Bar Association, serving as an Elder Law Section delegate to the Board of Governors and a past chair. He is president of the Colorado Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a charter member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners.

Marco D. Chayet continues to shape elder law in Colorado through his legislative work, published writing, and public service. He is also committed to protecting the rights and dignity of vulnerable populations across Colorado through experienced, principled legal advocacy.
