Marc X. Carlos is a highly respected criminal defense attorney with over 30 years of experience, known for his dedication to protecting clients’ rights. After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1983, he completed his Juris Doctor degree at University of Santa Clara School of Law in 1986. He has been licensed to practice law in California since 1988 and is admitted to all state courts and multiple federal courts.
Mr. Carlos began his career as a trial deputy in the Los Angeles and San Diego County Public Defender’s Offices, where he focused on serious felony trials. In 1997, he co-founded the law firm Bardsley & Carlos, LLP, later transitioning to his boutique firm, Marc Carlos Law, APC. Throughout his career, he has represented thousands of clients in complex criminal cases, including fraud, homicide, white-collar crimes, and federal litigation. He has served as lead counsel in over 30 homicide trials, including death penalty cases, and conducted more than 230 jury trials.
Mr. Carlos has helped clients from diverse backgrounds, including professionals, corporations, and public officials, navigate serious legal challenges. He has also provided legal counsel to international clients and has experience in extradition matters.
