About
Makenna Krist is a Houston personal injury attorney who represents people harmed by negligence. Her work includes motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, and maritime injuries governed by the Jones Act and general maritime law. She approaches claims through careful preparation and clear communication, helping injured people understand the legal process. Her practice involves cases where responsibility for an accident, the nature of an injury, and the legal duties of other parties may be disputed.
Makenna earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, along with a Business Foundations Certificate. She later received her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2024 as a Dean’s Scholarship recipient. She received the Dean’s Community Service Award and recognition for her appellate oral argument performance. Her academic experience also included trial advocacy competitions and work through the university’s Civil Law Clinic.
During law school, Makenna competed nationally as part of the Trial Advocacy Competition Team and served on the Public Interest Student Board. She completed summer legal clerkships in Huntsville, Alabama, and with a Houston personal injury practice. These experiences provided early training in case development, client contact, and litigation strategy. In her current work, she focuses on claims involving road accidents, injuries on unsafe premises, and maritime matters where specialized federal legal rules can apply.
Makenna is admitted to practice in Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and Houston Trial Lawyers Association. She also participated in the Student Bar Association and other legal student organizations while in school. Makenna Krist brings trial advocacy training, civil clinic experience, and public service involvement to her representation of clients pursuing compensation for injuries.
