Maggie Nowell

Maggie Nowell is a family law attorney based in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She focuses her practice on domestic relations matters, providing guidance and support to clients facing difficult situations while working toward practical and effective legal outcomes with care and attention.

Maggie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011. She also graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with dual degrees and a minor in Spanish, building a strong academic foundation for her legal career.

During law school, Maggie was a member of the Mock Trial Bar and received the Reese D. Williams Trial Advocacy Award. She also served on the Moot Court Bar and was recognized as a member of the Order of the Barristers for her advocacy skills.

After graduating, Maggie began her legal career with The Cate Law Firm in 2011 before joining Nowell Law Firm, LLC in 2020. She focuses exclusively on family law, handling matters such as custody, child support, adoption, divorce, and other domestic relations cases.

Maggie has been recognized for her professional achievements, including receiving the C. Bruce Littlejohn Young Lawyer Award in 2014. She has also been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year from 2020 through 2024 for her peer recognition and professional success.

Maggie has also been selected as a member of the inaugural class of the South Carolina Family section of the American Inns of Court. This honor reflects her standing in the legal community and her dedication to maintaining high standards in family law practice.
