M. Andrew Stover is a seasoned federal criminal defense attorney with over 34 years of experience in criminal law. His legal career has included distinguished service at the local, state, and federal levels, including a long tenure as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Texas. Known for his strategic legal insight, Mr. Stover represents clients in high-stakes federal criminal matters.
Mr. Stover earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, in 1987. His academic training laid a strong foundation for his interest in criminal law and procedure, a field he has pursued with unwavering dedication.
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Stover has prosecuted and defended a wide range of complex cases, including white-collar crimes, wire fraud, healthcare fraud, human trafficking, and national security offenses. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County and as Deputy Chief in the Attorney General’s Special Investigations Division.
While with the U.S. Department of Justice, Mr. Stover worked in collaboration with federal agencies such as the FBI, IRS, DEA, ATF, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Texas Rangers. His direct involvement in investigations gives him unique insight into federal procedures and enforcement strategies.
