Luisa Maria Lamprea Barragan

Luisa Maria Lamprea Barragan is an associate attorney in Albany, New York. Her practice includes employment and labor law, civil rights, and business law. She received the GW Law Merit Scholarship and served as an LL.M. representative in the International Law Society. She was also a member of her law school’s debate team in Colombia.

Luisa has advised businesses on cross-border disputes, business and employment litigation, and international negotiations. Her experience includes a breach of contract settlement with Chinese suppliers and drafting an international donation contract between the French and Colombian governments. While studying in Washington, D.C., she worked on U.S. trade sanctions disputes. After graduation, she clerked at the Office of the Attorney General in Maryland. She has also held private-sector, public-sector, and in-house roles.

Luisa Maria Lamprea Barragan supports entrepreneurs and underserved communities through pro bono work in Colombia and New York City. She has served as a volunteer adviser with NYPACE and has been involved with Adelante, Colombia. A member of the American Society of International Law, she spoke at The George Washington University in 2024 about U.S. trade policy and law. Her work brings together litigation, international matters, and community service.
