Liz Farkas

Liz Farkas is a criminal defense lawyer at Joe St. Louis Law, who represents people facing DUI, misdemeanor, and felony charges throughout Arizona. She handles cases from pretrial evidentiary hearings through jury trials and brings more than 14 years of litigation experience. She has tried more than 50 cases before juries. Her work places significant emphasis on pretrial motion practice, evidentiary challenges, police procedures, and strategies aimed at resolving charges before trial.

Liz earned her B.A. from the University of Arizona. She later attended Cooley Law School from 2007 to 2010. Her academic background provided the foundation for a career centered on criminal litigation and courtroom advocacy. Her training supports her work involving criminal statutes, evidentiary issues, constitutional protections, and rules of criminal procedure.

Liz spent 13 years as a prosecutor with the Pima County Attorney’s Office. She eventually became head of its Vehicular Crimes Unit and worked as a supervisor across numerous types of criminal cases. Her prosecutorial background gives her experience analyzing how criminal cases are investigated, developed, and presented. Her defense practice concentrates on DUI cases, pretrial litigation, felony matters, misdemeanors, and challenges to questionable police tactics or procedures.

Liz Farkas has been admitted to the Arizona State Bar since 2011. Her professional affiliations include the National College for DUI Defense and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She belongs to Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice as well.
