About
Linda Bordas is a Partner and Founder of Bordas & Bordas in Wheeling, West Virginia. She joined the practice after law school in 1985 and helped build the firm with a focus on representing people harmed by medical negligence. Her practice area is medical malpractice, including cases involving orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, general surgery, radiation oncology, pediatrics, cardiology, and cancer treatment. Her work has included trial and appellate advocacy for patients and families facing serious injury or death after medical care.
Bordas graduated from West Virginia University in 1972 and received her Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1985. In law school, she was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Law Review and graduated second in her class. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked as a hospital pharmacist. Her pharmacy background and legal education provide a particularly relevant foundation for evaluating medical records, treatment decisions, causation questions, and the technical evidence that frequently arises in malpractice litigation.
Bordas has handled major medical malpractice cases and appeals involving a range of medical specialties. Reported case results include recoveries of $2.7 million, $2.5 million, $2 million, $1.8 million, and $1 million in medical malpractice matters. Her work has also included appellate cases addressing the legal rights of patients and families of injured or deceased children. These matters demonstrate experience with complex medical evidence, significant damages, expert testimony, and disputed standards of care.
Linda Bordas has received recognition for both professional and community service, including the YMCA Light of the Valley award, a Good Samaritan award, and the Benemeriti Medal in 2018. Her long medical malpractice practice is informed by experience in both pharmacy and law. She helps patients and families examine what occurred, understand the legal standards that govern medical negligence claims, and pursue remedies through careful investigation, negotiation, trial, and appellate work when required by the case.
