Lewis B. Insler

Lewis B. Insler is an experienced attorney who focuses on disability law, including Social Security Disability, long term disability, New York State Employee Retirement, and related claims. Since graduating from law school, he has dedicated his career to representing individuals seeking disability benefits.

Lewis earned his Bachelor of Arts from Union College in 1976 and received his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union College in 1979. He was admitted to practice law in New York in 1980 and later gained admission to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of New York in 1988.

Lewis began his legal career working as an associate and later as a partner at a firm handling disability claims. After 17 years in that role, he founded his own law firm in 1996, continuing his focus on representing claimants in disability-related matters.

In 2003, Lewis became a partner with Gabriel Hermann, further expanding his work in disability law. Over the years, he has developed extensive experience handling claims and appeals, particularly in complex Social Security Disability cases.

Lewis now serves as Of Counsel and has stepped back from daily firm operations. He continues to focus on cases that require his experience, particularly Social Security Disability appeals at the federal court level.
