Lew Meltzer

Lew Meltzer has built a distinguished career as an attorney with decades of experience in business, tax, and real estate law. Lew earned his B.S., cum laude, from New York University in 1962, followed by a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1965. He later pursued an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University in 1969, further strengthening his knowledge in sophisticated tax matters. These credentials reflect his deep academic foundation and his long-standing commitment to mastering the intricate intersections of business and tax law.

Lew began his career focusing on major real estate projects, including work for Roosevelt Field Mall, handling store leases, financings, and agreements for J.C. Penney Department Store. Over time, his practice evolved to encompass corporate taxation, partnerships, and pension plans. He has guided clients through real estate acquisitions and structured investment partnerships, becoming a general partner in several real estate ventures and overseeing the development of River Run, a residential community and country club in Maryland.

Lew has also demonstrated a strong dedication to public service and community involvement. He has served as Campaign Finance Chairman for U.S. Representative Steve Israel and held leadership positions with the Association for a Better Long Island and the Harvard Law School Association of Long Island. Among his recognitions, he received the Humanitarian Award from the American Jewish Committee in 1991 and the Americanism Award from the Anti-Defamation League in 1993 for his contributions to U.S.–Israel relations.
