Leslie E. Baze is an employment attorney who represents workers across Oregon and Washington in complex workplace disputes. Her practice centers on protecting employee rights in wage and hour claims, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, protected leave violations, and whistleblower matters, with a strong focus on accountability and fair treatment.
Leslie built her legal foundation through a progressive academic path. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies / Humanities, from the University of Missouri–Columbia. She later completed a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at San Diego State University before earning her Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School.
Leslie has devoted more than a decade exclusively to representing employees. She regularly handles a wide range of employment matters, including wage-and-hour claims, equal pay disputes, disability and pregnancy accommodations, workplace safety concerns, retaliation, and wrongful discharge cases in both state and federal courts.
Leslie approaches every case with an individualized strategy. She takes time to understand each client’s work environment, legal challenges, and goals. By combining careful preparation with focused advocacy, she works to secure meaningful outcomes through negotiation or litigation while protecting workers from ongoing harm.
Leslie is recognized for her contributions to the legal community. She received the Pro Bono Service Award (2008) and served on the Moot Court Honor Board. Her academic achievements also include membership in Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and Golden Key National Honor Society.
Leslie remains actively involved in advancing employment law knowledge. She serves on the Oregon State Bar Labor & Employment Executive Committee and is a co-author of Oregon Bar Books Labor and Employment Law in Oregon: Private Sector, chapter four, addressing Enforcement of Wage Statues. Attorneys frequently consult her on litigation strategy.
