About
Lauren E. Fisher White is a partner and labor and employment lawyer who advises company owners, human resources executives, and boards of directors. She works with nonprofit, government, and for-profit organizations, ranging from startups to publicly traded companies. Her practice covers executive onboarding and departures, contested terminations, workplace policies, regulatory compliance, and employment litigation. She also helps clients address independent contractor classifications, disciplinary decisions, and business restructuring under state and federal employment laws.
Lauren earned a B.A. in English and Psychology, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University in 2006. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Washington & Lee University in 2010, where she served as managing editor of the Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice and received the Roger D. Groot Scholarship. Her academic work developed a strong foundation in legal analysis, writing, and civil rights issues that supports her employment counseling and litigation practice.
Lauren represents employers in state and federal courts and before agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board, and Virginia Employment Commission. Her experience includes harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, leave, worker classification, restrictive covenant, trade secret, and pay equity matters. She prepares employment, independent contractor, severance, and settlement agreements, guides internal investigations, and advises on mergers, divestitures, workforce reorganizations, employee handbooks, data breaches, and policies governing social media and personal devices.
Lauren E. Fisher White has been recognized by Virginia Business as a Legal Elite in labor and employment law from 2023 through 2025. She chairs the Federal Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section and serves on the council of the Virginia Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section.
