Larry Gibbs Turner

Larry Gibbs Turner is the founding member of the firm that bears his name. He is known across north Florida as a criminal defense lawyer and former circuit judge. His practice draws on years of work in civil rights litigation, criminal defense, civil litigation, and professional licensing matters.

Larry earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1966. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law in 1970. His education helped prepare him for a long legal career in the courtroom, the classroom, and professional legal service roles.

Larry spent eight years on the bench in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He also served as a state prosecutor and Adjunct Professor at the UF College of Law. These roles gave him deep insight into criminal cases, trial work, legal strategy, and the duties of public service.

Larry focuses on complex criminal defense and civil litigation. He brings creative thinking and new ideas to difficult cases. He also represents professionals with licensing, tenure, and employment issues. His work is built on careful preparation, practical judgment, and a clear focus on each client’s specific needs.

Larry helped found the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and served as its president from 1990 to 1991. He has also served on its Board of Directors. His memberships include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and several Florida Bar and judicial circuit legal organizations.

Larry has earned several professional recognitions during his career. He is Martindale AV-rated 5.0 out of 5. He received the Stephen M. Goldstein Criminal Justice Award. He has also been listed in Florida Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite.
